YOU WAITED FOR ME

thru all the disappointments & victories
you were always there
like a mother always sees a child in her eyes
like a prodigal son who's dad who wait's for his son's return
even though we were together thru each breath
my wondering days i found regret & hurt
your hand was real with scars upon mine

you waited for me
with blood in my eyes
with tears for joy & for relief
just like a brother a family i can call my own
though others laughed & scorned
when my life fell apart before their disguise
who can you trust but only the one saved me

there is no way
you can make it on your own
even in the flesh or in the spirit
you must submit your life
to the one who designed it
it's a daily thing
just like the Lord who gave us a daily prayer

wherever your living in the streets
or fighting in a war zone
in the field or in a crowded house
there maybe division
but signs are posted everywhere
calling out to you
your escape could be an eternal home
